The 12.1 megapixel full-frame sensor camera teamed with Expeed image processor works wonderfully to bring out astonishingly rich image qualities. For fine tuning and better picture quality, the D700 gives you 20 separate lens settings and an auto focus calibration. In terms of sharpness and high ISO too, it is better than the other cameras in its league with an ISO range of 200-6400. Equipped with 51-point AF with 3D Focus Tracking the SLR provides for better image quality even in low light, auto-focus precision and three dynamic AF modes.

The SLR also boasts of a 3” LCD monitor that offers a detailed control panel type display which changes color in darkness. The camera also sports scene recognition system for auto-exposure intelligence and picture control settings for 9 customizable settings and 4 preset options for fine tuning of images. Another new addition to the Nikon D700 is the Active D-Lighting with NEW Auto mode that helps you capture images and details lost in the shadows and highlights.

Equipped with an ultra-fast start-up and a shutter lag, the SLR offers a shutter speed of minimum 30 sec and a maximum 1/8000 sec with an option of continuous shooting up to 5 frames per second. Its rechargeable EN-EL4a/EL4 Li-ion Battery gives you the chance to take as many as 4200 shots.

Look-wise too, the camera fares good, weighing approximately 995 gm, with a magnesium alloy body (connections and buttons sealed against moisture ) and an improved info display on main screen.
